Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey lean
  • 1 tablespoon parsley fresh, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese grated
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 10 slices pepper jack cheese or mozzarella
  • 5 medium hoagie buns

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • Take a large mixing bowl and blend the ground turkey, parsley, garlic, parmesan cheese, dried basil, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper until they are well combined.
  • Using your hands, shape the mixture into 15 burger patties. Make each patty roughly into a rectangular shape, as you’ll be using three patties per sandwich.
  • Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties onto the hot surface and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked, sizzling, and golden brown.
  • While the burgers are cooking, toast the hoagie buns in the oven for a few minutes until lightly browned.
  • After the burgers are thoroughly cooked, grab your hoagie buns and assemble three patties on each. Elevate the flavor by topping the patties with a slice of mouthwatering cheese.
  • Place the hoagie burgers in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese.
  • Once the cheese is melted, remove the hoagie burgers from the oven and add your favorite toppings. Some great options include sliced tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, and ketchup.
