50gramswalnutstoasted and chopped
1teaspoonsea salt
½teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper
Burgers
4piecesburger bunslightly toasted
4tablespoonsmayonnaise
4piecesbutter lettuce leaves
2piecesripe tomatoessliced
1piecesred onionsliced into rings
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled blue cheese, toasted walnuts, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid overworking the meat.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, ensuring they are slightly larger than your burger buns as they will shrink during cooking.
Preheat a grilling pan or barbecue to medium-high heat (about 200°C or 392°F). Once hot, cook the patties for approximately 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns either in the oven or on a grill.
To assemble the burgers, spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with a butter lettuce leaf, a patty, a few tomato slices, and red onion rings.
Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Notes
For a more robust flavor, consider letting the patties rest in the fridge for 30 minutes before cooking to allow the flavors to meld. If you prefer a leaner meat option, ground turkey can substitute the beef, though it may alter the texture slightly.
